ABOUT THE BRAND
Share
Starting April '24, two engineering final year guys who started designing and manufacturing sophisticated conceptual t-shirts for a getaway in a fun way sat together and thought of starting their own clothing line-up. The line-up focus was to uplift the cultural land they came from, ASSAM.
Being from the cultural deposit of the core northeast INDIA, they focused on bringing the Indian culture (literal culture, what we call is संस्कृति). But bringing Indian culture into clothing was a full game for some. Dxxp found his way out with the first design of Luit (Brahmaputra). With 72 hours of research and analysis, Dxxp got his insights into the core and produced the first design of the Brand.
The so-called brand had only one design and wanted to make it big, but how? No name, no branding, no logo, no prior knowledge, nothing. Both the guys did a ton of work within the first 1 month to figure out the How's and What's.
While making something this impactful was a challenge and dealing with this challenge they faced a huge career-ending problem and wanted to revolt against the high table. But how?
Later that month, a short getaway trip gave birth to the first name, United Gangs Clothing. Yes, gangs. But why gangs? They wanted to represent the community—the community of the hustlers who face oppression from the officials, authorities, and high tables.
From finding manufacturers to figuring out distribution, everything took a toll at once. Why? Budget! 'Cause we're just fucking college students.
Later that year in August, Dxxp met J Da and K Da. Who are they? You'll know them in the read. J Da was a well-established clothing manufacturer from Guwahati and K Da was his partner. J Da liked the idea of culture-focused clothing and immediately offered Dxxp a job at his company. But but but, Dxxp wasn't just a designer—he had a vision, a vision to make it big, straight from his fingers to yours. And this vision would have been crushed working in a corporate environment.
After repeated discussions, they found a way out. A new brand, a new company, and whole new processes. Chetri took the online operations, Dxxp took design, marketing, and PR, J Da took finance and accounting, and K Da took manufacturing and distribution. And now, CULTEES was born.
Sorted. (As of now)
Within the next 6 months, Dxxp and Chetri worked their ass off to make this happen. Everything was made from scratch, driven by vision and guidance combined.
The first collection of 9 designs and 12 items was introduced, and everything seemed sorted. From A to Z, all the ticks were marked and crossed out one by one. With time, the pipeline was made, the plan was fixed, and things started getting into the world's view from January. The drop is planned to be on 07 March '25.
And this is how Chapter 0 took its turn.
One of us—Dxxp, Chetri, J Da, and K Da—is writing this shit and wondering about all the work that was put in for the world to read.
Be part of our journey and your heart-owned brand, CULTEES. We promise to keep the culture known and heard. Miles to go.
Chapter 0/9 ends here.
