Why We Built CULTEES

Hey there — we’re the team behind CULTEES, and we wanted to tell you a little bit about why we do what we do.

For us, CULTEES isn’t just a clothing brand. It’s personal. We were born and raised in Northeast India — surrounded by stories, traditions, warriors, rivers, music, and culture that shaped who we are. But somewhere along the way, we realized something: a lot of those stories were fading.

Ask yourself — how many people outside the Northeast really know about Lachit Borphukan or Rani Gaidinliu? How many know the meaning of the patterns our tribes have carried for generations? We realized we didn’t just want to wear clothes; we wanted to wear our roots. And that’s where CULTEES began.

Every T-shirt we make is a small act of rebellion — a way of saying, “Hey, our stories matter. Our culture matters. And we’re proud to show it off.” When you put on a CULTEES shirt, you’re not just wearing a design. You’re carrying the spirit of the Saraighat warriors, the soul of the Brahmaputra, the fierce independence of our land.

Our goal is simple: we want the youth of the Northeast (and beyond) to reconnect with where they come from. We want them to feel proud, to stand tall, and to tell the world: this is who we are. At the same time, we dream bigger — we want to take Northeast culture global. We want people in Delhi, Mumbai, Tokyo, or New York to stop and ask, “Whoa, what’s that design? Where’s that from?” — and open the door to our untold stories.

CULTEES is for the dreamers, the fighters, the creators, the ones who think different and live different. We’re not here to follow fashion trends. We’re here to build a movement — one where culture meets the streets, where identity meets style, and where every thread reminds us of who we are.

So yeah, when you wear CULTEES, you’re not just buying a tee. You’re joining us in something bigger.
Let’s root back to the culture — and own the streets together.
